Matt writes,
Well i have just spoken to the hikers and don't they sound exhausted. They set off at 7.30 this morning for what was meant to be a 6hr day, and they arrived at camp at 5.30pm(10hrs later). A lot of uphill climbing and many leaches along the way. They arrived at camp with no remaining water and the tank is dry, so Jo managed to scab a beer from a family camping ( won't go far between 4). Another camper brought them over a spare steak and salad. Whilst having a damp shower Jackie managed to get her hair caught in the tent zipper, she started crying once the others pretended to start cutting her hair with scissors to release her. Luckily she was able to free herself. Jo has asked for her size 10 pants to be brought up on Tuesday and Brett has asked for the trackies that Jo left on the lounge room floor.
All in all a tough day i think. One bright note is Ben is on the recovery trail & hopefully will join them Tuesday.
Till tomorrow
